«Top Gun: Maverick» sei der perfekte Blockbuster und der beste Film des Jahres
Die Teilnehmer an der CinemaCon bekamen nicht nur viele exklusive Trailer zu sehen, sondern auch gleich die ganze Fortsetzung zu «Top Gun» - und die soll umwerfend gut sein.
Am 25. Mai kommt Top Gun: Maverick endlich in die Kinos. Der Start musste wegen der Coronapandemie immer wieder verschoben werden, wobei Apple und Netflix in dieser Zeit beim Hollywoodstudio Paramount mehrfach angefragt haben sollen, ob sie den Film nicht kaufen könnten. Paramount lehnte aber trotz grosszügigen Angeboten ab. Man wolle den Film unbedingt in die Kinos bringen. Wenn man nun die ersten Reaktion zum Film liest, war es definitiv die richtige Entscheidung.
Paramount hat während dem eigenen Panel an der CinemaCon nicht nur erstes Material zum kommenden Mission-Impossible-Film enthüllt, sondern als Überraschung auch gleich Top Gun: Maverick von Anfang bis zum Ende des Abspanns gezeigt. Da an der CinemaCon neben Kinobesitzer*innen jeweils auch einige Journalist*innen zugegen sind, gibt es nun auf Twitter die ersten kritischen Stimmen zum Film - wobei, so kritisch sind die gar nicht. Top Gun: Maverick wird eigentlich durchs Band gelobt.
Jeff Sneider von «The Ankler» nennt den Film den perfekten Blockbuster und sagt voraus, dass die Fortsetzung beim Oscar eine Nomination für den besten Film erhalten wird. Drew Taylor von «The Wrap» kam ebenfalls euphorisch aus dem Screening heraus und nennt Top Gun: Maverick den besten Film des Jahres. Andere nehmen Wörter wie «episch», «wahnsinnig», «fantastisch», «spannend» und «emotional» in den Mund. Von der Storystruktur her folgt das Sequel zwar dem Film von 1986, aber störe dies kaum. Der Kampf zwischen Tom Cruises Maverick und der Figur von Miles Teller, welcher den Sohn von Mavericks im ersten Teil verstorbenen Partner Goose spielt, bringt einiges an Drama in die Geschichte.
Immer wieder wird in den Tweets betont, dass man diesen Film unbedingt auf der grösstmöglichen Leinwand sehen soll. Das ist verständlich, denn die Flugszenen wurden mit IMAX-Kameras aufgenommen. Das Ergebnis soll einen umhauen.

Top Gun: Maverick: Just because something is predictable doesn’t make it any less satisfying. It has a near-identical structure to the original, but with some added drama between Maverick and Goose’s son. Absolutely killer air action. It’s exactly what fans will want.
