Katie Lueng played Cho Chang in Harry Potter 4 and had there already a crush on him. In the newest part of that series, Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix, she appears again and tries to get over the death of Cedric Diggory. Time passing by, Harry and Sally, ... eh Cho gets closer and finally gets a chance to kiss him. On the occasion of the Swiss Premiere of Harry Potter 5 in Zurich Katie Lueng visited our country for the first time. Additionally she found some time to speak with OutNow.CH about Harry, the kiss and other stuff of her life.

OutNow.CH (ON): How was the Swiss Premiere here in Zurich?

Katie Lueng (KL): I had a lot of fun. I didn't expect there to be so many fans, it was really unbelievable. I think there were more than a thousand people standing at the red carpet. Unfortunately it was raining, the minute we stepped out the car it was pouring down. As soon as we entered the cinema it stopped - pretty unfair, but very typical. Nevertheless it was exciting and pretty fun.

ON: What's more exciting: The Red Carpet Premiere or the Ball at Hogwarts?

The Umbrella-Girl

The Umbrella-Girl

KL: Oh, that's a difficult one. I loved both, I mean - the Premiere is like what you come to after you paid off all your hard working. It's just amazing, an amazing feeling, all the fans are there, like supportive. When we were doing the ball-scene it was quite similar, because I got a dress fitted to my size and the decorations everywhere, a lot of people - so, I would say they're kind of the same level.

ON: How do you manage the publicity work, like coming to the Swiss-Premiere, giving interviews? Is it hard work or just an interesting lovely way of advertising the movie?

KL: It is nice, I mean you get to stay in really nice hotels and you get to meet really cool people and obviously I've never been to Switzerland before. So it's nice to explore and I got some free time left for shopping, going to some exhibitions, stuff like that. We'll see what happens, but it's very nice. Sometimes it gets a bit strange, because people ask you about your life and I'm not used to explaining what I'm doing.

ON: How do you handle criticism?

KL: I've not really had any negative reaction, a lot of people ask me about the whole jealousy thing, but it makes me feel even more lucky to be where I am and getting to and to have that kiss with Dan. Well, at London Premiere, at Swiss Premiere all the girls being lovely, so that's been alright.

ON: Are we going to see Cho Chang in the next Harry Potter movie?

"Simsalabim"

"Simsalabim"

KL: Possibly, I'm not sure and I've not been told yet. Fingers crossed, I'd loved to be back for the sixth Movie. The situation between Harry and Cho is not cleared out in this movie, so hopefully she'll be back for the sixth one. I'm obviously Harry's "gotten over Cho" and he moves on to Ginny Weasley ... but we'll see.

ON: What would be your dream-part in a feature-movie?

KL: I'd love to play a patient in a mental hospital. I think it could be quite an interesting part to play. I've seen One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest with Jack Nicholson and Girl Interrupted with Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie and I love both of those films. The characters are very interesting and they're just going wild.

ON: What is your favorite feature-movie? Or what kind of movies do you prefer?

KL: I love fantasy, anything with fantasy and I just love Harry Potter obviously and Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia and all of that ... I also love really intense movies, with a lot of emotion.

ON: Do you often go to the cinema?

KL: No, but I tend to buy a lot of DVDs I got a massive collection. My brother has a collection as well. So we're just trying to outdo each other and see who's got the bigger collection. I love sitting at home, watching a film either with my brother, because he loves movies too or on my own. Maybe I do prefer a little watching movies on my own, I just don't like any distractions. I like being in my room, lock the door and put my headphones on ... maybe with some popcorn. [she's smiling]

ON: Obviously we have to speak about THE kiss ... did you do some particular practice for this scene?

What a kiss!

What a kiss!

KL: No, we didn't, because it's Harry Potter's first kiss, we wanted it to feel like it was our first kiss, so we didn't practice before. Actually before the kiss when I'm talking about Cedric, we rehearsed that a few times, but then I think we went straight on to the kiss after a few takes. In that way, I think it's more natural.

ON: What did your boyfriend think about the whole scene?

KL: I don't have a boyfriend ... since god knows when. I'm single.

ON: Daniel Radcliffe

KL: Harry Potter [laughs]

ON: Magic

KL: Wand

ON: Stephen Chow

KL: Funny

ON: Favourite Potter Scene
