Nun gab er an einer Promotions-Veranstaltung für John Carter bekannt, dass er mit vielen seiner Schauspielkollegen (Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins) auch für allfällige Sequels des Filmes mit dabei sein werde.
Gerüchte, dass er in Lars von Triers Nymphomaniac spielen wird, kann der Allrounder nicht bestätigen. Zwar sei er immer mal wieder in Kontakt mit dem Regisseur, eine feste Zusage für eine bestimme Rolle oder den Film habe er bisher aber nicht. Dennoch würde es den Schauspieler reizen, mit von Trier zusammenzuarbeiten, für den er 2009 schon in Antichrist vor der Kamera gestanden hat.
John Carter kommt 8. März 2012 in die Schweizer Kinos. Noch bleibt abzuwarten, ob der etwa 250 Millionen Dollar teure Abenteurfilm überhaupt genug Geld einnimmt, damit eine Fortsetzung gedacht werden kann.
