Gerard Butler als Fussball-Papi
Der Schotte wird in "The Field" auf Uma Thurman und Jessica Biel treffen.

Obwohl er als Actionstar in Filmen wie 300 berühmt wurde, schwenkte Gerard Bulter schon bald zu den romantischen Komödien wie The Ugly Truth und The Bounty Hunter. Dies glich er jedoch wieder aus mit Auftritten in Filmen wie Law Abiding Citizen und Gamer. Jetzt ist wieder etwas Leichtes dran: Butler spielt in The Field einen ehemaligen Fussballer, der einwilligt, die Mannschaft seines Sohnes zu trainieren. Schon bald hat er aber den Fokus nicht mehr auf das Spiel gerichtet, sondern auf die hübschen Fussball-Mütter.
Eine dieser Mütter wird Uma Thrman spielen, in die sich Butler wahrscheinlich verlieben darf. Jessica Biel wird die Ex-Frau von Butler spielen, welche zwar vor hat, wieder zu heiraten, aber wohl nicht sehr froh darüber ist, was ihr Ex-Mann so treibt.
Regie wird Gabriele Muccino führen, die bisher bei The Pursuit of Happyness und Seven Pounds die Kommandos gab. Das Drehbuch stammt von Robbie Fox, deren letztes Skript das Pauly Shore-Vehikel In the Army Now bereits 17 Jahre zurückliegt.
